After that day, I served in two different officer roles before becoming Chapter President. I met my six best friends who I served on our Executive Committee with (and this summer we all stood together as bride/maids in one of their weddings!). I became an intern at Executive Office. I received my first post grad job and was a Leadership Consultant for two years. And I continue to serve Alpha Delta Pi as a dedicated volunteer...

While the SWs were in Atlanta a few weekends ago, we had a special little treat arranged for us by Christine. She had been shopping at Kendra Scott // The Shops Around Lenox last month and put her business card in a drawing for a Color Bar Party.
Their Color Bar is a massive touchscreen (think wall size) that lets you pick from classic Kendra Scott pieces that you can completely personalize by mixing and matching with different jewels. So. Neat.!
Lucky for us, her card was the winner! This little soiree included cupcakes, champagne, and lots of shopping. It was the perfect addition to our weekend together. Special thanks to #KSAtlanta for the great event!
One of the things I am most grateful to Alpha Delta Pi for is introducing me to my best friends (referred to as SWs). The seven of us served on our chapter's Executive Committee together and have been inseparable ever since. We were all recently reunited in Atlanta for another memorable weekend.
I can't Tie the Knot without you... Will you be my bridesmaid?
First-ever statewide recruitment workshop in Mississippi: check!
As a facilitator, one of the most special things I took away from this weekend was listening to each of the collegiate members speak about why they 'Came Home' to ADPi. I was reminded that our shared values, established by our founders in 1851, are truly what brought us all to the same sisterhood on different campuses across the country and continue to bind us together.
I can't wait to see how bright ADPi shines this year in the Magnolia State! I know y'all are gonna make Eugenia real proud, sisters.
I looked down at my calendar today and was shocked that August 1 was already here. This seemed like the perfect time to get back to the blog.
Tomorrow I hit the dusty trail for Starkville, Mississippi and I could not be more excited! This weekend will be the first-ever statewide recruitment workshop for all of the ADPi chapters in Mississippi (aka Delta Sigma Chapter // Ole Miss, Epsilon Eta Chapter // Mississippi State, and Eta Zeta Chapter // Southern Miss).
I have been fortunate enough to work with a group of ADPi volunteers over the past few months whose focus has been these three chapters (affectionately referred to as Team Mississippi). Our efforts will come to a head this weekend as we help prepare these women (in person!) for Formal Recruitment.

Last week, the ADPi Colony at CNU held their first Sisterhood Event! Since we have not yet elected officers, all of the colony members are working in committees.

The Sisterhood Committee came up with the idea to host "speed dating" for all of our members. The event, appropriately coined "Diamond Dates," was a huge success! The Sisterhood Committee asked everyone to wear date attire, and after the speed dating questions + 3 minute response time, we had a dessert reception.
I highly recommend this event to all sorority chapters! It would be most appropriate to do after you get new members as a way for everyone to get to know one another.
P.S. It's also a fun way to prep for Formal Recruitment conversation!
